Winter Party

Thank you to all of the families who made our Winter Party so much fun. We really enjoyed presenting our Gingerbread songs and poems, decorating cookies, and playing gift games! Have a wonderful winter break!

You've Got Mail!

The first graders were so excited to open their letters today! The excitement and smiles were amazing as they read the letters you sent from home. Thank you for your help to make this writing unit so authentic! Don't forget to check your mailbox in the near future for some return mail.

Math Explorations

Today during our Math Explorations we created structures with Base 10 blocks. Then we recorded the number of flats (100s), longs (10s), and cubes (1s) to create the 3-digit number showing the total number of cubes we used.

Science Fair Information

Today the first graders took time to work in small groups and look at published Question and Answer books. They looked for ideas the authors used to put into their own books!

Writing Question and Answer Books

The last few weeks, we have been studying Question and Answer books. Today, the first graders began writing their own with their partner. They had to agree on a topic and how to organize their book before they began.
